State has half a billion $ deficit

All aboard the final ride. Rhode Island has become the Titanic with the governor as the captain. Cutting loose 1000 state workers seems like painting the deck chairs on the doomed ship. This is a result of the clowns on Smith Hill who have let the unions run amock for decades. |
Governor Carcieri has been ringing the bell but Murphy and Montalbano went full speed for the iceberg. The next 18 months will bring the state to a crashing halt as the bills come due with no money to pay. Pensions, free health care and welfare for illegals have crushed the ocean state. |
A deficit of $500 million and a FBI probe is not the way to attract business to a state. 2008 could make the banking crisis look like a vacation compared to what is around the corner. $500 million could climb to $1 billion in 9 months.
2008 elections will get ugly on Smith Hill. |
Going out of business? FBI should just surround the place and start arresting people. |

I-Ramp to open

What time is the ribbon cutting? Can the public walk over it first? Should we wait 12 hours for the paint to dry? DOT announces opening a new I-ramp over where "Shooters used to be", to help the traffic mess. It will only be open in the afternoon. |
This should be fun as people have to guess which ramp is open and which is closed.
Wait until it snows.... |
