John DePetro, AKA "The Independent Man", is the host of a call-in radio talk show heard weekdays from 9 AM to noon on Rhode Island's Talk Station, WPRO (630 on the AM dial). Topics feature the most interesting or controversial news of the day. Most people who listen to The John DePetro Show list the program as their number one source of news. All opinions and perspectives are welcome. The show is fast paced, lively, and never dull. From 1990 to 1998 DePetro lived in New York City and worked for WABC Radio. John is listed on the “Heavy One Hundred”, a list of the 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts in America. He has been a guest on the syndicated "Imus in the Morning Program" and "Sean Hannity Show," and has appeared on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and ABC News. DePetro had a successful six year run in Providence, RI on WHJJ where he was known for investigating corruption and scandals in Rhode Island and consistently breaking news involving high ranking public officials.
