The
Right Idea!! |
|
John,
I enjoyed
your little "contest" today regarding callers naming the
titles of Christmas carols. I especially enjoyed the elderly
lady who sang along with the songs as they played. She
had the right idea about being happy as she stated, "Every
day I get up my legs work and my brain works".
Life is a
gift and she was correct in her assumption about enjoying
every moment of it. In 1981 I was diagnosed with Cancer.
Twenty-one years later I'm still enjoying the "little
things" in life such as spectacular sunrises, the sounds
of the birds on a Spring morning and the smell of wildflowers
in the Summer. In spite of the fact the "demon" shows
its ugly head every once in a while (I had two surgeries
in July and August) I still count my blessings and enjoy
the "gift".
This time
of year brings many people happiness. However, there are
some who dislike the holiday season. Enjoy the time we
have here. This is not a dress-rehearsal! Also, I'm still
awaiting the mug-shot of Buddy without the rug!

Re

Hey you Buddy
supporters... have you read the series on Buddy in the
PRO JO? Buddy comes off as having guts... long as Buddy
can strut and show off his stuff. The guy is a bully boy
Showman who fears nothing because he is coke-high devious,
vicious... and mean as the worse goon. Buddy is in love
with Buddy, not Providence. I vote with Meg Curran...
the city would be much farther along if buddy had left
the stage years ago. He overstayed his welcome and became
part of the problems. And supporters of Buddy are now
part of the problem, for if they tolerate what he did,
history will repeat.

Question:
During the day where can you find the most Providence
Police cruisers taking coffee breaks together? Dunkin
Donuts, Racotti Sub Shops, Water Place Park, Swan Point
Cemetery. If you guessed Swan Point Cemetery way down
in back toward the Blackstone River you have guessed correctly,
so if your looking for real estate with a good police
presents then buy a lot @ Swan Point!

John, im a
big fan of your show. your dry sense of humor is hilarious
especially when your going at it with Joel from Worcester

I agree with 90% of your views, except when it comes to
Buddy.
My question is this, why do you only post emails that
bash Buddy? I send frequent emails defending him and they
never get posted. hmmmmm, interesting.

Hi John, I
like your show very much. I recently responded to an article
in the Newport Daily News "Agencies need help to help
others" referencing an agency-- Women's Resource Center
of Newport that was in desperate need of help. I phoned
them offering $$ and help. To my amazement I was put into
someone's mailbox and "dismayed" left a messages.....
guess what? No One ever called back. I feel very sorry
for the people I could have helped but due to this agency's
incompetence people will go without help. I am new to
the area... is this the way it goes here?

My latest.....
and my Malice in Plunderland poem
post away if you want!!!
MALICE
IN PLUNDERLAND
By
Charlie Hall
It was a long long time ago
When Tony Freitus did
Get annoyed about a lease
Where he'd put in a bid
Though Tony had the lowest price
Downtown said, No you lost
You've got to get an envelope
Of "Thank-yous" to the Boss
Thank-yous? No way, Tony thought
I will not play this game
I'm going to the FBI-
Revenge is what's my aim
The operation took a name
By which it could be known.
"We'll name it after Buddy's scalp."
And thus borne Plunder Dome'
So over many, many months
Tony paid some dough
To unsuspecting patsies-
On his Candid Camera Show
He soon became friends with the guys
On the Board of Tax
And found out with a little gift
Tax bills could be relaxed
Joe Pannone would take the money
He claimed' for the Mayor
But it's final resting place-
Nobody knew quite where.
And there was also David Ead
Who finally did come clean
When learned he did his laundering
Through a Coke Machine
The Mayor's indictment finally came
The press, they gathered quick
He tried to hold it up for them
But it was way too thick
"97 pages long
But here you'll find no racket
There's no crime or kickbacks here
And no stains on this jacket!
These charges are ficticious!
And I am barely phased
The FBI? Hey, I'm more scared
Of really windy days!"
Then a secret tape was shown
By prosecutor Rose
Buddy muttered, "What's wrong Rich,
Was your Blockbuster closed?
12 months later Buddy got
His lawyer on the case
Warning prosecuters they'll have
Egg-bert on their face
April 17th, 02
Judge Torres said, "Let's go!"
(He'd become the state's most well-known judge
...Next to Frank Caprio)
Arlene, Dan, Jack, and a couple of Jims,
New York and Boston press,
Jeff and Lou and Walt and Gene
.
And all the Journal's best
Would spew their views and thoughts on air
Most musing without worry
Some even thought themselves as stars
(Charlie) Baskt-ing in their glory
Yes, some press got way too involved
One told some tasteless joke,
One guy got banned, and one received
A tape from his Deep Throat'
Don Imus came to Providence
"Hey, Mayor your hair went gray!"
Buddy chuckled, "My hair Don
Can change shades every day!"
Each day the cameras clicked and aimed
The circus never lagged
And Buddy'd be about to bust
But Torres had him gagged
For three months we heard witnesses
Telling what they know
Many ending up with noses
Like Pinnochio
Those who ran the tow trucks
To the person would insist
That they all gave quite willingly
To stay put on the List.
The strict RI campaign laws
To this group weren't a threat
They gave the mayor checks that were from
Their friends, their kids, a pet
Then there was that building
That was rented to the schools.
Although a former body shop-
The kids thought it so cool!
It was trashed and dirty
With bad fumes one should not whiff
But Ed said, Hey, it's nothing
That those school kids haven't sniffed"
We heard about the mystery bribe:
A mom paid that would yield
A job for her quite troubled son
Where he would wear a shield
The son, though didn't make it through
"Hey," mom yelled, "that's a jip
I want that cash returned to me!"
Alas, she had no slip.
It seemed the whole department now
Was wrought with spreading cancers
But Chief Prignano worried not-
Yes, he had all the answers!
Now to Club University
The state's cream' all would go
But when Cianci tried to join
With clenched jaws they said "No."
So when members asked to renovate
And permits were their need
Buddy shared with them the words
That everyone should heed:
"The toe that you step on today
May one day cause you sorrow
If it's connected to the ass
You have to kiss tomorrow."
On video we saw the tapes
Of Frankie C's charades
Taking secret kickbacks
We guess- for hearing aids
Finally after
ten long weeks
Arguments began
With no defendants opting first
To tell all from the stand
For 9 days
16 jurors met
Offering little clue
As the press each day would search
For any interview
And then with little warning
The jury said we're done'
Acquitting Mayor Cianci
On all his counts
but one
With elections looming close
Buddy pondered, then
Suprising all Rhode Island
Said "I will not run again."
He shuddered to believe the truth
That no more he'd be boss.
"Who'll run the town and clown around?
Who will stir my sauce?"
Judge Torres sentenced Buddy
To five years in the Pen
Giving him time to report
December 6th was when
And Buddy thought, "Well thank you Judge
If I don't have to go-
Then while my lawyers handle briefs
I'll go on radio!"
Many picked on PRO-AM
"What you've done is perversion!"
But Buddy laughed- cause luckily
There was a new diversion
Harwood was the topic that
The whole state now was on
Buddy, looked up "Thank you God
But mostly thank you John!"
So here is where we'll finish this-
There's no end to reveal
Because as most folks would admit
This Mayor has got appeal'
It'd be so sad if prison's where
Our Buddy's story ends.
Although at least might enjoy
Seeing some old friends
To end, no matter what you think
Of this legend with great flare
You know some how, some way, some time
He'll once again be Mayor!

gifts for Christmas |
|
Hey there,
I know you
are trying to keep it light today, but the kids and I
have three spoiled dogs, two cats and ten chickens that
don't need one thing. For Christmas, in their honor and
in honor of those of our pets that have died, we give
a honking donation to our local shelter. This helps them
take care of the hundreds of pet shop (re: puppy mill)
puppies that will be turfed in January and February after
their cuteness has worn thin. Also, those of your listeners
who have their heart set on a purebred, might want to
wait until after the holidays and check out the pounds
and shelters in the months after Christmas! Saves a bundle
and helps out a critter looking for a home.
Thanks,

hi john!!!
hey, as always,

to be held responsible for his role in the debacle that
is the catholic church. i was just checking out cnn and

cocaine and pot for sex (and one of his dealers even wanted
to make a video of the misdeeds). another took in young
women wishing to become nuns, but he told them to have
sex with him in the name of Christ. on and on, law's name
surfaces in some sort of "hide amd move" routine. can't
he be prosecuted for at least "aiding and abetting?" i'd
love to hear what your other listeners have to say on

Your Mayor |
|
John,
Only in Rhode
Island can a convicted thug be spotlighted on national
television just two (2) days prior to checking into Club
Fed proclaiming his innocence while belittling the likes
of Arlene Violet in the process. As a native Rhode Islander,
I find it repulsive this man has been given special treatment
and actually had the opportunity to choose the place for
his incarceration. He is laughing at all of us as he prepares
to take a nice five (5) year vacation and to return to
the millions of dollars he stole while in office.
While on television,
he claimed that Providence is a much better place than
it was before his tenure in office. Has your mayor walked
down Potters Avenue or Prairie Avenue lately? Ask the
people living there if the city is "better".

I know WHJJ
is romancing the Native Americans for the advertising
revenue and I don't expect to hear this opinion or see
this email posted. Having said that, why does the chief
continue to talk about "health and education" for his
tribe being an issue? Perhaps I misunderstood what he
was referring to. Surely he was not talking about only
"his people"'s health and education... or is there a reservation
in Rhode Island that I missed? Perhaps there are separate
schools that the Natives send their children to... and
their nation has it's own health services paid for by
the Natives themselves that I am not aware of? Surely
the Natives in RI who are on unemployment, disability
and social security are on the Native versions of these
tax payer funded programs and not the ones that are administered
by the evil white men who run the United States! They
cannot have it both ways! If they want to be a separate
nation, let them separate and not take the money of citizens
of the USA any more!

THE
O'LEARY FACTOR in Cranston |
|
John, What's
up with my lame-duck mayor, John O'Leary in Cranston?
It seems like, all of a sudden, he's emerging as the fearless
financial wizard in Cranston. If he knew what was goin'
on--- he'd run for re-election and be re-elected by the
hardworking and honest taxpayers of Cranston. All of a
sudden, It seems like he and his sour-puss losing Democratic
hacks have all the answers to Cranston's financial woes.
Where were they the last few years?
What will
John O'Leary's last act as lame-duck mayor be? Maybe he'll
try to hook up with hellhole and low-bond rating East
Chicago, Indiana to create a sister city "bond" where
the two cities can share cultural and economic opportunities.
My advice to him is if he wants to leave the door open
for a possible future in politics --- don't let the door
kick you in the ass on the way out! Go Laffey!

face a REAL prison. He cried like a baby and maybe offered
to sing for the feds. And by the way, Where was Kennedy,
Langevin and all the others when Rosemary Glancy got sentenced.
She got no break till it was to damm late! She got sent
to Texas. Stealing and taking drugs do pay with the feds.

Hunters
|
|
John
The two people that were shot last year were hunting on
private property WITHOUT permission. The last thing you
want to do is wear orange when hunting where you don't
belong. If you remember one of the hunters put orange
on before the rescue people got there. The hunter said
he did not have any orange on when he hit him. The hunter
did have permission to be there but shot someone without
it.

Cianci/Violet |
|
Hi JD
I can't believe the publicity this issue has generated
(Cianci/Violet). To me it just shows that Ciancy, with
his gifted ability as a politician, has been able to manipulate
things in a way that puts Arlene in a bad light. This
is his final show before he leaves.
I have occasionally listened to Kass and Co. for 15 to
20 min at a time to get the flavor of what they are doing.
I have lost so much respect for Kass (whom I always thought
was a straight shooter with a moral compass but "what
you do speaks so loud, I can't hear a word you are saying.")
Unlike you John, Kass will not allow a differing opinion
on this matter, to the point of talking over people who
are sticking up for Arlene, and hanging up on them. Pathetic.
I continue to support HJJ, you John, and Arlene. Stay
true to your convictions. This one will not be easy. This
too will pass.

AN
OPEN LETTER TO THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS |
|
Dear Federal
Bureau of Prisons,
I am writing to you on behalf on Vincent A. "Buddy"
Cianci, Jr.
You need to get clued-in about the importance of Mr. Cianci
and how to treat him while he is your guest!
Other cities have produced mobster celebrities such as
"Bugsy" Siegel and "Whitey" Bulger,
and we get awfully attached to our local gangsters. Buddy
Cianci is a legend here in Rhode Island, and you need
to be brought up to speed about exactly how charming Buddy
can be, and why you need to adapt to his wishes. Look,
there is even talk about a movie about Buddy Cianci. He
is more important than you will ever be!
See, Providence is Buddy's town, and the closer he is
to Providence, the better it will be for everyone, you
included. Do you get my drift? For starters, he has a
$600/ hour lawyer who could make your life hell if you
do not cooperate. Other local bigwigs and pols have previously
setup a legal defense fund for Buddy, meaning he is well
funded, so just watch it, OK?
He has alot of important friends such as Congressmen Patrick
Kennedy and James Langevin. Here in Rhode Island, we have
an Old Boy Network, which consists of much back-scratching,
and we do not take kindly to a potentially independent
department such as the Federal Bureau of Prisons which
may not do the Rhode Island Shuffle and may not show one
of our 'boys' the deferrence that is due.
Please go easy on Buddy. He is a VIP. Just because he
is in prison --should not mean downsizing his lifestyle--
at least not by much. We did everything we could to make
him feel at home here in Providence. While he was here
in Providence he lived in the Presidential Suite at the
Omni Biltmore Hotel. That sort of environment is really
where he reigns supreme. A dingy cellblock is below him.
Do you have a room with a view? Something spectacular,
on the very upper floor is preferred. Ideally, it should
be spacious, but not too big because the starkness of
correctional decor can diminish the coziness as size increases.
A suite would be perfect, with a wet bar, library, and
well stocked galley. A fireplace would be a terrific enhancement.
All the pay channels are not necessary, but basic cable
TV service is mandatory, since Buddy frequently likes
to watch himself in the national news.
While he was Mayor of Providence, Buddy had a limo and
driver/ police escort. He loomed large and made grand
entrances at functions with his police entourage. Please
don't be thinking it was egomania or intimidation, because
it was nothing like that.
Please do not believe the people who say that Cianci is
using ploys to be moved around within the federal prison
system. I can't believe that people would seriously suggest
that, that Buddy Cianci could be manipulative in such
a way! Especially at his trial, when every single witness
against him had their character assasinated and was portrayed
as a scumbag and liar, it is inconceivable that Buddy
Cianci could be anything less than paragon of virtue.
Speculation is that when Buddy is released from prison
--his fame will be bigger than John Gotti's. Please do
not muck up the works by cutting off Buddy from easy geographic
access to his goombahs and lackeys.
Now listen up: I demand that you give Buddy Cianci the
respect that he deserves!
Thank you,
Hal Meyer

Dear Mr. DePetro:
No matter what you may or may not think of Buddy Cianci,
there are other people to consider in this, namely his
daughter and grandchildren. Whether he has or has not
been the worst or best of fathers and grandfathers, the
decision as to whether to try to have a relationship with
him while he is in prison, should be theirs. The options
should be maximized for THEIR sake and he should be permitted
to serve his sentence closer to home.

|
First he picks
up an assault charge, and the people say never mind, he
is one of our own, they put him in office as mayor, thereby
signaling to the entire nation that providence not only
is willing to tolerate a criminal as it's leader, but
in fact prefers it that way. secondly he gets found guilty
by the federal government of using his position as mayor
to run a criminal enterprise, and the people rally to
his defense and accuse the F B I of being unfair to one
of our own. And now this, useing his daughters illness
as a vehichle in attempt to manipulate the system to his
benefit and again the people rally to his defense, citing,
he's one of ours and should be treated differently than
those other common criminals. And you know what john?
no matter how much decent people like you or arlene pull
the covers off this guy, the people are never going to
let go of him because he represents that side of themselves
that they will never own up to, the side that would go
to any lengths to come out ahead in the game. I consider
you and arlene to be as pearls cast before swine, and
for all your honorable intentions this town will never
rally for you as they do for BUDDY! because he is indeed
what they deserve, being one of thier own.

hi john i
am a tow driver in the prov. area i have met buddy many
times over the years i have no love for politians or courts
i have never been in trouble in my life (minor shit maybe)
but cianci has been one of the most corrupt leaders that
prov. has ever had. he has a very good memory for names
and faces, back when he got re-elected the word in my
business was he wanted $1,600.00 ever 3 months from each
company, at that time 13 tow companys . at that time,
i think projo did a piece on what the companys make per
year being on that list somewhere around $100,000.00 a
year his greed was shocking.
during his trial i caught bits and pieces and thought
why are these people lying for him corrente is a smart
man why would he cover for buddy. his age his wealth,
to do time no matter how much it would be a life sentence.
rosemarie glancy was a sweetheart she was treated like
shit and got no special treatment i have no dout in my
mind they got her in buy giving her brother a promotion
with out her knowledge and then threaten to demoat him
and told her she had to do what they wanted or else. she
would never hurt her brothers but i feel they had make
there move first then hang it over her head she never
lived high she was a worker no flash but a very nice lady
fear kept her in line so they could do what they wanted
to do.
i don't know if you remember about 2 or 3 years ago on
the news channel 10 or 12 (not sure which) buddy had the
lighting of the xmas tree on the city hall steps and made
his speech and the b/s that goes with it but he said something
that to this day i will always remember when he introduced
his daughter and grand son his words where i would like
to introduce my daughter nicole and her son , he did not
say my grandson i found that wierd . i am a father and
my dad and my father in-law would brag about there grand
children as they introduced them to anyone and would show
pride, he don't show that pride .
his greed goes back to when he started as mayor but that
could'nt come out in court unless they had gotten someone
from his first admintration on the stand and i think ronald
glanz was hoping because he did time for buddy and got
the buddy ciance golden wand up his ass, i think he is
bitter over it and if he was called he could have shed
a little more light of what cianci was doing the whole
time he was mayor. as far as him taken care of his daughter
the most he has ever done is keep her from going to jail
in prov. i feel bad for her i'm sure she has more issues
then projo she has been getting used since she was a toddler
weather it be for showing off to voters at election time
or at the court house he made himself liquid after he
was charged he sold his home and his boat the money i'm
sure is not in his name but i would be willing to bet
it is in a family members name so it can't be touched
and a third party is holding the bank book.
as far as him not knowing ed voccola, if he has'nt known
him 35 years his hair is real all the voccola boys and
buddy would have lunch at resturants in hoyle square back
in the late 60's buddy is made up of weasle words and
horse shit he should have gotten 20 years for the things
he has done . nothing got done with out somebody paying
cash on the side but buddy never let the cash touch his
hands it always got to him threw others but it never got
lost you can believe that he is a lawyer and another word
for lawyer is liar. and if his daughter has a bank account
with buddys ill gotten gains i hope she spends every penny
on herself and her kids.
as far as what buddy has done for the people of providence
all that have to do to really see is look at there tax
bill and water bill and be sure that they did'nt pay 5
quarters a year instead of 4 that was a snafu from the
70's he tried.
btw you have a great show just another sucker from providence
p.s.
try talking arlene into running for gov. she would be
great she is a very very open minded and honest woman
may she live to be 150

Devil's

John, Here's
another view. Do you think Buddy turned his back on his
daugher and told her to go on welfare as a "tough love"
remedy? If he doesn't support her monetarily she won't
have the money to buy drugs. Sink or swim. He should not
be allowed to go to prison elswhere. Oh, his poor family
(sic). Ha! He should have been thinking of them when he
was running his "criminal enterprise". My kids keep ME
honest and striving to do the right thing. My daughter
once took ONE pipe cleaner from a small craft store in
Warwick. We were in Providence before I noticed it. Do
you think I wanted to drive ALL the way back to Warwick?
Hell, no!! What great lose would it be for the store?
But I did, for my kids!! She had to return it and tell
the lady she took it without paying for it. She never
took anything again! Buddy should have been doing the
right thing all along... for his Family!!! Now he has
to pay!!! Well, John, it's good to have you back.
Take care, Debbie

Arlene |
|
John,
Channel 12's question of the night, who do you believe
Arlene or Buddy?
Who do I believe? A convicted felon or a honest and objective
person like Arlene. I hope that this is a no brainer for
most Rhode Islanders. Our state is fortunate to have someone
as honest and courageous as her on the airways and has
obviously been very unfortunate to see the likes of "Buddy"
as an elected and trusted official. He needs to take a
good long look in the mirror once he gets to Ohio and
pray for forgiveness. Frankly, I think that Mr. Kennedy
and Langevin should concentrate on more important issues.
Like us!
HELLO, why did we elect Carcieri and Brown and why did
over 1200 people write in Bruce Buyak's name at the polls--WE
WANT CHANGE. These three clowns or stooges Kennedy, Langevin
and Reed better wake up, they keep giving the voters more
reasons to vote against them.

John:
I dont have many opportunities to call talk shows during

As for Buddy: Have Langevin and Kennedy written similar
letters for convicts that do not have the political clout
of a Cianci? Do blue class convicts get such access to
their offices?
And how can someone who is so concerned with his family
have allowed himself to be so corrupt? Buddy Cianci a
family man? Please.
None of us are saints ... and the judgement of the next
world is the one we all need to be concerned about. But
for the time being, eartlthy judgement has been made (based
on Buddy's own life choices) and he needs to go far away

Cianci
and women |
|
How can Cianci
suddenly sound sympathetic to Nicolle because she is a
woman head of household? What a laugh!
Big macho Cianci has encouraged his entire staff to degrade
and humilate women business and property owners for years
to keep them in their place. Cianci was looking for action...money
and other stuff.
Cianci has pushed his employees to go out of their way
to be sure women COULD NOT support themselves without
a male protector. Just look at the black and white statistics
on what has happened financially to women heads of household
in Providence, Rhode Island. These jerks tried to force
themselves into the lives of women who were just trying
to make a living. They harassed them and tied up their
finances. Cianci is a bully. He preyed on the weak.
Guess Patrick Kennedy and James Langevin don't have a
clue what it is like being a woman trying to support a
family.

Hey John: Great
job again! Why do they not count the number of people who
signed into vote at the fire station and then compare that
number to how many votes were put into the voting machine?
They should do that for all of Pawtucket at this point.
It is a simple audit procedure.
The number of people that signed into vote should match
the number of votes!!! Unless there was ballot stuffing!!!!
The FEDS need to seize all of the voting material NOW!!!!!!!!

What a poor

crime scene has an eye witness! The jury did the best

Missing
Ballots |
|
Hi John,
I was outraged at Mr. Begin's remarks on 36 tonight.
First he's not infavor of counting the "missing arrow"
write ins. That's totally wrong. The purpose of the arrow
is for optical scanning purposes, it is essential for
any candidate or issue APPEARING on the ballot in a normal
fashion (preprinted). If a "write - in" occurs,
voter intent is obvious, the arrow is redundant, and the
vote should be counted.
My second outrage is what Mr. Begin said about missing
ballots. He claims that out of 300,000 ballots, it is
"normal" to be missing 43. He implied that was
totally acceptable! IF I WORKED AT FLEET BANK AND WAS
COUNTING 300,000 - ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR BILLS, AND CAME
UP SHORT 43 - $1000 BILLS, WOULD FLEET CONSIDER THAT ACCEPTABLE
AND NORMAL?
Hear that? It's Roger Begin's future political plans going
down a very dirty drain.

Gordon
Fox |
|
With all this
attention on Harwood, we East Side voters are still scratching
our heads on the Gordon Fox win. We were so thrilled when
someone ran against him because he was thumbing his nose
at Separation of Powers. Fox also made the ethical questionable
decision to support Buddy Ciani during PlunderDome, so
we assumed illegal activites don't bother him.
Now we can't find anyone that voted for him, so how did
this professional back slapper get back in???
Wish the Board of Elections would double check those machines,
too.

John, I saw
Don Bosquet on your progam (Cox3). I went to Barnes and
NOble to purchase his latest book. They said that they
do not carry his works because he (or his agent) insist
that they order 100 of each of his books or he won't sell
to them.

What happened
to Scott Hornoff is a crime. But he is not without blame.
He lied from the beginning about his involvement w/the
girl. He led the investigators to believe he was covering
up something. Let's not forget that he WAS a police officer,
a detective at that and should have known better.

Harwood's
exploitation of the elderly |
|
John,
I work in a nursing home on the East Side. A wife of one
of my patients told me a story that was a bit upsetting.
Apparently, about a week before the election, Harwood
and his clan passed out chicken dinners to the elderly
residents of Pawtucket's high rises. Seems like such a
wonderful gesture, but he was obviously there just to
aquire votes. When this woman asked a tenant-friend of
hers if she was going to vote for Harwood-her response
was-"Of course, I am, he brought me a nice, hot dinner."
In cases like this, I think it's disgusting that he would
prey on this population. I wish DEA would step in and
stop such practices. We need to protect our elderly, not
use them. My question to Harwood is-When will you be back
to those same people with another hot dinner? I hope they
don't hold their breath waiting.

Jeffery
Hornoff |
|
If Hornoff is
to be compensated for his false conviction, let's see who
should give the compensation.
1) How about the police who gathered circumstantial evidence
against an innocent man.
2) How about the grand jury that returned an inditement
on the circumstantial evidences
3) How about the jury that convicted an innocent person
on the circumstantial evidence presented.
4) How about the judge who did not overturn the jury's conviction
of an innocent man based on lack of evidence?
5) How about the defense lawyer who didn't get an innocent
man off. Some great lawyer huh?
If we pay compensation in this case then shouldn't we do
it for all innocent people that say they are innocent and
spend time in jail?

Carcieri's
Hiring |
|
John:
I hope you will be monitoring the hiring practices of
Mr. Carcieri and following the trail closely. I read in
the ProJo on Thursday that Joe Larisa from Almond's deadbeat
staff said " I hope he keeps on some people"
or something to that effect.
I hope he cleans out the barn! ALL NEW PEOPLE please.
Lets hope Mr. Carcieri learns from the past that DiPrete
& Almond retreads won't cut it. We want a NEW administration.
Get rid of the entire Almond staff at the State House
and start over. Thanks.

Speaker-Elect
Murphy |
|
Hi I.M.
Well according to the Sunday ProJo Editorial, some of us
should have pause for thought regarding the selection of
Mr. Murphy and his team. The selection process concluded
48 hours after the election. Whatever happened to a series
of public debates among contenders for the post as the real
reformers had proposed?
Mr. Murphy's credentials include the following:
1. One of the few who refused to urge Harwood to step down
before Nov 5th
2. Champion of Casino Gambling
3. Moving force in gutting the Ethics Commission
4. Moving force to allow Judicial Magistrates to bypass
confirmation process
5. Voted against allowing Debate on Separation of Powers
6. Supports Fox for Majority Leader...the architect of the
State $ 250 Million
Dollar Budget Deficit and champion of State aid to Providence
and Mayor-Elect Cicilline confident
7. Supports Rene 110% Menard for Whip ..another "new"
face
8. Favors sending S.O.P. legislation to committee
Last but not least, has yet to disavow Harwood's BIZARRE
statement to the caucus indicating that he has the option
to return as speaker at some later date! The accompanying
cartoon in the ProJo showed Harwood as a puppeteer manipulating
Murphy and Fox as the puppets.
Murphy is an engaging guy and may in time break free of
Harwood's influence.... but make no mistake about it, REFORM
has not yet come to the House. Mr. Murphy could take a step
in the right direction by making the records of the JCLS
for the past 10 years public immediately!

Now I want
to know, how the hell could Patrick Kennedy win this election?
and by such a large margin? I dont care if the guy can
spin straw into gold, he's arrogant, reckless and has
no respect for woman (or anyone else) Didnt anyone see
that tape of him pushing that female security officer
at the airport? What about his recklessness while yachting
with a female friend? This is okay?
Just another example of how power and influence really
do supercede the most basic codes of social conduct.....
how sad!

Regarding
the vote outcome |
|
Computer
chip, computer chip, computer chip. Remember that gas
station owner that was arrested on the West Coast about
seven years ago for putting a computer chip in his self-service
gas machines? People who pumped gas were paying for more
than they realized. The computer chip had the machine
occasionally throw in another gallon (or was it another
dollar charge?) and that added up with the number of people
gassing up. Can a computer chip modify results in these
machines by throwing in another Harwood vote every five
or so votes? How difficult is that to accomplish in a
corrupt state? By comparison, how are other states doing
with these new-style voting machines? Having any second
thoughts about using them?
Probably checks are in place to double count the number
of voters to prevent computer chip fraud, right?

Question |
|
When are
you going to do a live commercial promoting the "Natural
Male Enhancement"? I dare you.
The following is a Rhode Islandism:
A new girl coming to work in an office is doing a Mayor
Lombardi - she's a temp.
Another question: Is it possible that Todd Barry "took
a fall" for the Cushman murder? Was he serving life
to begin with? I haven't heard any details about him and
wonder about that. It's kind of far-fetched, but who knows?
As for saying/doing a dumb thing:
I was just out of high school and was hired by a large
finance company. The boss' secretary gave me pamphlets
and stuff to read to acquaint myself with the office routine.
At the elevator that night, I remarked to one of my co-workers,
"Now I have to go home and read all this junk".
I looked up, and there was the secretary standing there.
I was mortified. Luckily, she just smiled and let it go.

Harwood is Gone!!!!! |
|
He is finally
gone... for John Harwood to suggest he did it for "the
team" is ridiculous. He had no team, maybe a few
hangers-on but no team....
A real team is a group of individuals that share a common
cause and work together for an outcome that is agreeable
by all... John Harwood's team started jumping ship long
ago and left him in the wake... we all know a real team
leaves no one behind...John Harwood has been left behind
and is probably now a very lonely, lonely man. If he had
simply fought the allegations when this first came to
light long before the public knew about Wendy Collins,
one would have to believe his legislative team would have
stuck behind him... whoever convinced him to take the
route he took with the Collins thing and just pay her
off are probably hiding right now because if I was John
Harwood, a man now with plenty of time on my hands...
I'd be looking for those "guys".... and at least
two names come to mind.... DeSano and Sweet.
The most powerful man in the state should be embarrassed
by the final vote tally on Tuesday... a write in candidate
was able to come so close in such a little time has to
also make him aware that he did not have the team support
he continues to proclaim he had.
John Harwood likes to refer to the legislature as a team
much like a hockey team...
well, we've all been told that at one time he was a good
player (legislator)... after all that has happened over
the past few months, we finally know why he was never
a great player... when the time came to fight he didn't
have what it takes.

PUPPET
GOVERNMENT |
|
John, (Please
do not use my name, if possible.)
You have to be kidding! Murphy as Speaker of the House
is more of the same-old- same-old and is probably a puppet
manipulated by John Harwood from the ol' boy's back room.
Gambling proponents in the legislature determined this
speakership, and there will be total disregard for the
people, two-thirds who voted in opposition to gambling.
Quoted from the Daily News last night was Rep. Callahan
"who said she is nervous about a potential Murphy speakership."
'I'm very concerned, quite frankly, about Bill Murphy
as speaker because of his position in West Warwick on
the gambling issue.' "Murphy was active in pushing legislation
that would have placed a referendum on the 2002 ballot
for a Narragansett Indian casino in his hometown."
The fact that Rep. Murphy told you that it would take
two years to review and pass a Separation of Powers amendment
is the clue to the continued Harwood- style obstruction.
It is the big stall as usual. 76 percent of voters in
the state voted for Separation of Powers, without delay.
Reform? Act on the will of the people, immediately.
As to Rep. Fox, he has the look of the fox in the chicken
coop about him, thinking voters will be fooled by hiding
behind the "mask of reformers"! Remember, Rep. Harwood
was elected to achieve reform and the level of corruption
escalated, and it has taken his arrogant excess to achieve
even this token change. True reform would give us a speaker
who was definitely in opposition to Speaker Harwood. Since
that did not happen, there will be lip- service, no change.

Message
to Carcieri: NO ALMOND HOLDOVERS |
|
Hi John:
I'm outraged that Almond Chief of Staff had this to say
in today's Journal:
"He suggested Carcieri may have one advantage over
Almond: Many department
heads appear interested and "hopeful" about serving
under the new administration, as opposed to eight years
ago when Almond had to begin his tenure appointing a nearly
new cabinet."
NO ALMOND HOLDOVERS!!
And while he's at it, get rid of Decastro the Law Mower
Sheriff and Joe The Barber and all No Show Jobs!
I hope this will be a Carcieri administration...not an Almond
one. Rhode Islanders are expecting more from Don... a whole
new team. Clean out that entire Governors Office and bring
in ALL new faces. Appoint NEW department heads. Send a message.
I hope the independant man keeps on this issue!

Support
Our New Governor!! |
|
John, Get
ready!
Soon the honeymoon for Don Carciere will be over and the
democrats will be looking for blood. After years of bashing
Governor Almond for not being "visible", making
appearances and taking stands on every touchy feely issue.
The democrats will now be "Outraged" that our
new Governor is using his office as a bullypulpit and
abusing the power of his office to promote his "mean
spirited agenda". Bla, Bla, Bla.
We need to support our new Governor, he'll need it. Not
being a career politician, he's bound to make some mistakes,
and step on some toes trying to cut wastfull spending
to secure a future for our children.
First we need to finish the revolutionary war by passing
separation of powers, then we need to give Governor Carciere
the "line item veto" power. A tool he will need
to "line out" wastfull and duplicate spending
in the budget. The general assembly has become a one party
run away train with no brakes in site. Don Carciere will
be run down unless we all hold firm to what needs to be
done. Every department needs to be stream lined to do
more with less. Renegotiate the health care coverage for
state employees to something more realistic (partial pay).
End the double dipping and early retirement. Pensions
are for people who work their whole life and retire at
65, NOT 40 years old, only to start another cushie state
job with another pension. I know a guy he'll get 3 pensions.
Military, Fire Fighter, 911 emergency operator, plus social
security! Not bad for someone who spends all summer at
the beach!
THE TAXPAYERS CAN'T AFFORD RUNAWAY SPENDING!!
The louder the democrats and unions screem, the better
the job our new Governor is doing applying the brakes.
I define wealthy people not by how much money they have,
but by how much free time they have. Believe me, there
are a lot of wealthy people recieving goverment aid in
this state and it needs to stop !!
