DePetro wraps up big night at Odeum

  Successful spring speaking series

John DePetro wrapped up his final " Live at the Odeum" speaking series Wed night, making it a successful spring speaking series in the state. The final night had another large crowd which then filled up Besos, the series sponsor, late into the night. " I was thrilled with the high note we ended on and could not have been happier with the speakers and guests" said DePetro. The final night had Judge Frank Caprio, Nick Janikies, and URI coach Dan Hurley.  The night ended with the crowd singing 'Happy Birthday' to David Caprio at Besos. More to follow on DePetro.com.

Gist stays to save education

The best Rhode island news all year..

The good guys won last night. The children won last night. Families won last night. Greed and evil lost.
The winner

Eva kept her word

Losers r us....

Can Gina Raimondo save the state?

General Treasurer seen as last hope for Rhode Island

Can she save one million people?

Little Rhody seems to be on running on empty into the bottom of the 9th inning of survival as a viable state, with a very important election coming up next year for governor. Rhode Island is on the verge of becoming a permanent "welfare state "unless something changes dramatically in the next four years. As John DePetro has said on the radio, 4 more years of Governor Gump would crush the state with no chance of coming back. Although Fung or Taveras would be " ABC"( anybody but Chafee), the money seems to be on the General Treasurer.

Say goodbye if Gump stays

Can she throw him out?

Is Chafee ready to dismiss Gist?

Gov Gump does not give vote of confidence

Never trust a guy who keeps switching parties. Governor Chafee hints that he may let Deb Gist go by raising a major red flag during the key week ( sounds like a rigged vote). John DePetro has predicted that Gov Chafee is not to be trusted.

Chafee surrounded by his inner circle

Is Eva the hit woman?

Does Chafee regard her as a "Carcieri " hire?

What ever happened to Liz Roberts?

Once a rising star, now never seen or heard

Have you seen her ?

There was a time when LT. gov " liberal" Liz Roberts seemed like a woman on the move. Then Gina Raimondo entered the scene, and Roberts has gone into deeper hiding then Bobby Deluca. Roberts beat back Jeremy Kapstein in a primary in September 2010, but then seemed to enter into the " witness protection "program. As John DePetro mentioned on WPRO, even during the blizzard she was nowhere to be seen at EMA headquarters. Roberts put out a release on Chafee becoming a democrat, but it was as "vanilla" as Senator Whitehouse in South Providence. Roberts has the right last name, the title, and money. So what happened? Gina Raimondo. Gina has the money, confidence and star power " Liberal Liz" could only dream about. Raimondo remains the favorite to be the next Governor of Rhode Island.

The real rising star

Who will be with Chafee on ticket for LT. Governor?

Who will Gump choose as running mate on party ticket with him?

Cranston atheist

Maybe the first "illegal alien" as LT Gov

Will he select a woman?

Jason Pleau is the wildcard choic

D-Day for Deborah Gist

Education Commissioner has not back down to union thugs

Board set to vote June 6, D-Day

Her contract is up Friday June 7

The state must keep her

The teachers unions in Rhode Island have bullied and rallied all union hacks to oppose Deborah Gist remaining as the education commissioner. Prior to Gist, Rhode Island  public schools were "a race to the bottom " ,with the most expensive (yet under performing )school system in America. Gist has tried to make teachers accountable for lack of performance in the classroom and math scores that were below that of a third world nation. The teachers union in Rhode Island is all about greed and not about teaching children. Gist has brought leadership and attempted to lift the standards for all the schools. It would be refreshing if Governor Gump could  step forward and demonstrate half the courage and leadership Gist has displayed.
Public schools in Rhode Island are controlled by union hacks as opposed to educators. Although many good teachers have told DePetro.com they are bogged down with endless paperwork that they must fill out. Liberal elitist even took  a mock NECAP exam and claimed students in school should not be tested! John DePetro has said they should work to make it easier for good teachers, and weed many bad teachers out. Gist must work to bring the good teachers to her side .
All people who believe in a better education system should support Deborah Gist, and say no to the corruption and greed of the teachers unions.
