15 Paid Holidays for retired Cranston Fire

Mayor Fung calls contract " fair"

School sports and music cut

May 4, RI Independence Day is paid holiday?

$25 a month for full healthcare coverage

Next Governor?

Never caves to union
Cranston Mayor Alan Fung drives a hard  bargain when it comes to a new contract for the city Fire fighters.  Sounds like he got them down from 18 paid holidays to 15. They went from no contribution towards health care coverage to a whopping $25 a month. Fung also gave them a new 4 year contract.  Why 4 years? Fung will run for governor, and the new mayor will have to deal with a new contract right in the middle of running for reelection which is not easy when you have angry, protesting union members. Watch for this contract to be a major issue for Fung in a primary. Follow DePetro.com for the latest on 2014, and listen to John DePetro on WPRO.

15 paid holidays

Can he bear Fung?
