The War on Christmas: Petition to replace dead Christmas Tree at Rhode Island Statehouse

Providence Journal

 The Rhode Island Progressive Democrat Governor Gina Raimondo has decided to leave the dead Statehouse tree up as yet another insult to the people of the most Catholic state in the country. If it were any other religion, Governor Raimondo would drop everything and jump into action to rectify what is embarrassing to all who celebrate Christmas. If the Christmas tree were from another country( an illegal tree) or if the tree was from a wealthy donor, the Governor would put her top staff assigned to care for it.

NY Post

Would you put out stale food to serve to your guests on a holiday? Would you serve children sour milk? By displaying a dead Christmas Tree, Raimondo is showing her contempt to all who celebrate Christmas with a "wink" to her supporters on the Left. The Governor who jets around the country raising $3 million dollars for her campaign cannot even provide the people of the state with a decent tree at Christmas.

Raimondo, the progressive warrior of the ALT-Left, has had a contentious relationship with the Catholic church since her campaign for Governor. In September of 2014, Raimondo held a rally inside Planned Parenthood where she vowed to make Rhode Island the most "abortion friendly" state in the union. Her actions were condemned by the Bishop and a plaque honoring her was removed from the wall at her Catholic high school La Salle academy. When she was elected, she snubbed inviting the Bishop to the inauguration by sending an email invite the day before. Last month, in an attempt to make a political statement, the Governor unveiled a blue Statehouse Christmas tree to send a message that Rhode Island was a "blue state."The tree has died more than a week before Christmas day, and Raimondo seems ready to throw it by the curb outside the Statehouse on Smith Hill. By disrespecting Christmas, Raimondo is not much different than former Governor Chafee who refused to call it a "Christmas Tree" and insisted it was just a "holiday tree."

 Raimondo is one of the leaders of the Progressive Left who mock religion and go out of their way to insult American traditions. The Raimondo crowd is composed of Ivy league, East Side elitist and atheist who are ashamed of the American flag, don't respect the military and embrace the Progressive agenda. Raimondo War on Christmas 2017: How the Gina-RINCH stole Christmas and killed our tree

There is no joy in "Who do you know-ville." Like the ghost of Christmas past, Governor Raimondo has killed the Statehouse Christmas tree and will not replace it.

 It was bad enough Governor "Queena" Raimondo made our Christmas tree to resemble the Big Blue Bug, but now they have killed the Christmas tree with no plans to replace it. If only the tree had made a donation to her campaign it may still be alive. The UHIP crisis has now touched our Christmas tree.

 Sign the petition on change.org https://www.change.org/p/rhode-island-governor-gina-raimondo-governor-gina-raimondo-replace-the-dead-rhode-island-statehouse-christmas-tree and send a message to the Governor.

Was Chafee used as a bargaining chip at the Old Canteen Lunch?

 Questions remain as to whether former Governor Linc Chafee will challenge Governor Gina Raimondo in a Democrat primary next September. The latest rumor is that Chafee was "set-up" in a high profile lunch at the Old Canteen on Federal Hill with House Speaker Nick Mattiello. Chafee,the naive nitwit, gladly jumped at a lunch invitation from the Speaker, and the lunch was quickly leaked to the media. Chafee was so proud to feel relevant with his lunch( "I had the veal"), he proceeded to do a series of interviews where he regaled his "power lunch" like a high school boy bragging he had lost his virginity. Who had something to gain by news of the lunch leaking to the media? We have since learned the Speaker called Chafee, and Mattiello selected the "very public" location.

 Behind the scenes, sources say Raimondo had a decision to make: either make some deals with Mattiello, or Chafee would be encouraged to jump into a primary. Raimondo has very low approval ratings, with very high negatives, and cannot afford to get dragged into a messy primary with anyone, let alone Chafee. The Raimondo campaign has also seen polling data that shows she loses in a head to head match up with a Republican challenger, since Gina cannot get anywhere near 50%. The best case scenario would be she would lose 54% to 46%, and that is best case scenario. If Raimondo were to attack Chafee, her negatives would go up. Even with Raimondo favored to survive a Democrat primary against Chafee, she would be forced to attack a Republican opponent and her negatives would climb even higher.

What if a deal was offered to the Raimondo campaign with an opportunity to avoid a Chafee primary, and gain a third party candidate to enter the race that would weaken the Republican candidate? Would Raimondo be willing to make such a deal? Without a primary, Raimondo does not raise her negatives. With a third party attacking the Republican candidate, Raimondo could run a positive campaign and stay above the fray in the debates. What if Raimondo had an opportunity to win next November with just 42-44%? Does she make a deal? If Governor Gina Raimondo loses in November 2018 her political future is not over, but it is derailed. If she can win next November, her plan to run for President remains intact. Remember, everything in politics is a deal, and the key is the art of the deal. Twas the night before Christmas in Rhode Island 2017

Twas the night before Christmas in the Ocean state,

 but no food for the poor since UHIP was late.

 Although Santa was known as a jolly old soul,

 he hated the thought of the Rhode Island sleigh tolls.

The state house was busy this Christmas Eve,

 "sex for legislation" is their pet peeve.

The Governor was making last minute fundraising calls,

  dreaming of $5 million as her campaign cash haul;

The governor had wishes for Santa this year,

 another term as Governor with a grin ear to ear;

 A new bike for Smiley or maybe even two,

could Santa bring Assumpico a higher IQ?

The speaker was worried as he checked his list twice,

" no Pawsox stadium unless they pay me my price!"

Mattiello mused, " I hope Santa don't think I am a thug,

 and I'll make sure of that with a handshake and hug."

The state senate was crowded still busy down the hall,

dreaming of "no show" jobs for their families and all.

  Rep Tanzi announced that she felt sick,

" an elf grabbed my ass when I visited Saint Nick!"

  Christmas Eve on Smith hill where the parties run late,

  with money to be made in the "I know a guy" state;

where power is seen in a low numbered plate,

and pensions are granted if you get thru the gate.

Montanaro was giddy and ready to collect,

with one wish for Santa of "leave to protect;"

Carnevale wants a new shirt and maybe some hair,

 but remember his words " there is no story here."

Gorbea was excited and seem to be gloating,

she asked Santa for ballots and illegal voting;

Nellie was ready, to deck the halls,

  "emergency voting"  in Pawtucket and Central Falls.

The progressives hated Christmas they hated it all,

they hated Santa and trump and his talk of his wall.

 State police were apologetic and filled with dread,

 they shot a reindeer thought to be stealing a sled.

" sorry, no room."

Linc Chafee was angry for all to see,

 yelling "it's still not Christmas, it's a holiday tree!"

Chafee wanted a car, one that was electric,

and Gump asked Santa if the state could go metric.

 It was Christmas in Providence with plenty of need,

 so they robbed the giving meters to buy monkey weed;

Olneyville was ready for a big Christmas ball,

 dreaming of green cards, EBT cards, licenses for all;

 Mayor Elorza was worried about old saint Nick,

charging "time and a half" with North Pole union tricks;

 Kennedy plaza was packed on Christmas Eve day,

with panhandlers and junkies causing delay;

The homeless were ready for holiday cheer, at the

 "Superman" building they pissed and drank beer.

 Senator Whitehouse was worried with Christmas to be,

 perhaps his last December in the swamp in DC?

Could Sheldons time in the Senate be just a mere sub,

would he end up working at Baileys beach club?

 The Pawsox wrote Santa "we needed cash on our tree,

to build a stadium in Pawtucket where Apex use to be."

 Benny's closed shop and decided to screw,

 leaving the state with millions around $72.

 National grid has been naughty but still want their pay,

 but people in Rhody say "no effing way."

Pat Morgan was happy that Christmas had come,

 while she dreams of a win over Cranston Mayor Fung.

 Mayor Fung had a question with a twinkle in his eye,

" where in Providence are those cranes in the sky?"

May this joyous season bring you peace,

 knowing Gordon Fox is on work release.

And when you hear those Christmas bells,

 just smile thinking of Gallison in his prison cell.

What will happen in 2018 we just don't know,

Merry Christmas to all from the John DePetro show.
