Sheldon Whitehouse becomes laughing stock of the nation during Kavanaugh hearing

"what is boof?"

I guess they don't play "quarters" at Bailey's beach club.  Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse had his moment in the spotlight during the Brett Kavanaugh hearing and used it to "grill" Judge Kavanaugh on his high school yearbook in a span of five minutes the nation will not soon forget. Can you imagine if that had been Patrick Kennedy he was questioning? When you heard rumor of a yacht in Newport and sexual assault, it had to make may you wonder if he was confusing Brett with the Kennedy clan. Teenage drinking? Like the underage booze party at the Chafee compound at Weehoosen Farm that Caleb Chafee had and Whitehouse son stopped by?

Alexander Whitehouse left the Chafee underage high school graduation party before the girl was rushed by ambulance to Kent hospital.  Then Whitehouse son got busted on a DUI in Middletown at age 19. At least with Kavanaugh the drinking age was 18, unlike the Chafee party and legal age of 21.

thank you Sheldon

" What is the meaning of FFFFFFF?"

 "What is a devils triangle?"

" I have never played quarters."

 "What is boof?"

" What is rolfed?"

Please keep in mind this is coming from our junior Senator, former Attorney General and former U.S. Attorney for Rhode Island. Kavanaugh could barely contain himself as Sheldon proceeded to ask about vomit and farting regarding the writings of a 16 year old high school student from 1982. Not exactly Perry Mason. Sheldon seemed oblivious to the laughter of people attending the hearing and continued his line of questioning of a high school year book. In Rhode Island, Sheldon lives in "Zooport" and is a member of the all-white exclusive Bailey's beach club where he rubs elbows with the likes of Clay Pell and other WASPS.

In the ultimate "hold my beer" moment, Whitehouse had bragged to fellow Democrats he would take down Bart Kavanaugh by grilling him on his beer drinking in  high school.  Swing and a miss. Rhode Islanders have a choice with Bob Flanders on November 6, to end the Sheldon disgrace.

Raimondo campaign bombshell: Gina promises illegals will get a Rhode Island drivers licence

Progressive campaign sources say Governor Gina Raimondo is promising Latino groups that in her next four years she will sign an Executive order providing Illegal aliens with a Rhode Island drivers license. Sources say Raimondo has promised that if she get voter support for a second term, she will work to make Rhode Island the most Progressive state in the country. Apparently Latino voters feel betrayed that Gina did not fulfill her campaign promise to them and 2014 and are reluctant to support her this time around.

Raimondo has explained she needed to make it through her first term as Governor, but if reelected in November, she is ready to sign an immediate Executive Order granting all illegals a drivers license.

Give Gina a shot at another four years?

Raimondo has also told Progressives she would like to restrict gun ownership and make other changes during her final four years. If the Governor wins in November, she will be term limited out and can not run again for Governor in 2022. Raimondo is reportedly making promises to all groups that she will "finally be free to make Rhode Island the Progressive capitol."Many Progressive activist are still upset with Matt Brown losing in the Primary, and have threatened to stay home on election day.  The Raimondo campaign have countered by making all kinds of promises if she can win in November. John DePetro celebrates 20 years of Talk Radio in Rhode Island

In September of 1998, I was living In New York doing fill in on-air work on 77 WABC while I was also the National Sales manager for WABC and WPLJ. Bud Paras and Bill Hess who ran WHJJ in Providence gave me the opportunity to do a Saturday morning show on 920 WHJJ during the Fall of 1998. I would drive to Rhode Island on Friday nights and drive back to New York after my Saturday show on WHJJ. Some of my first guests on those Saturday shows on WHJJ were Sean Hannity, Matt Drudge, Bob Healey and Jim Bennett.  I then made the decision to leave New York and move back to Rhode Island to be a full time Talk show host. Since day one,  I have always tried to make my show entertaining and informative with a focus on the news of the day. On January 4, 1999, I did my first show on WHJJ from 9:a.m.-12:noon, and my first guests were Salty Brine, Tony Randall, my parents, and Mayor Buddy Cianci.

During the time of September of 1998 to the present I have:

-interviewed four United States Presidents (Clinton,Bush,Obama and Trump).

John DePetro and Imus

Some of the most memorable shows I have been part of were the Plunder Dome trial coverage from the trailer outside the courthouse, the aftermath of September 11, the Great White fire, the smoke shop raid, and breaking the story of Speaker John Harwood and Wendy Collins. (click on link below of me on with Imus). I appeared on Imus in the Morning over sixteen times including live on MSNBC. Imus was my first time I was heard by a national audience, and Imus truly appreciated the humor that I use on my show. It is one thing to do a local show, but it is another level when you are on a nationally syndicated program heard by millions around the country.

Other incredible shows involved Chafee and the Holiday tree, the Woonsocket Cross, my Curt Schilling exclusive, my interview with John Foreman, the yoga pants man controversy, and the Zaki murder interviews. I did a live broadcast from Israel for 10 days in 2002,  attended 4 Super Bowls, 3 World Series, and covered both Republican and Democrat national conventions. I have also broken many stories and interviewed all kinds of news makers. There are too many local stories to mention plus storm coverage and political debates.

I have also for many years filled in for Dr Michael Savage on the Savage Nation which is heard by over ten million listeners, and most recently last month hosted the nationally syndicated Chris Plante show.

Other highlights of my twenty years have included being the emcee of the Trump rally in April of 2016 carried live on Fox and CNN.

Producer Kool Keith with John DePetro

Some of the saddest stories I covered involved the death of Cornel Young, Jim Pagano, Jennifer Riveria and personally knowing 5 people who died in the Great White Fire. The best part of being a talk host is the opportunity to speak with so many wonderful people who call in to my show to discuss the news of the day.

Thank you to all the listeners and sponsors who have been so tremendous to me the past 20 years. Although I did go to Boston for 3 years, I still stayed in touch with Rhode Island stories and had Rhode Island listeners. I am also not counting my days on college radio stations like WRIC, WDOM, WJMF and WXIN.
