FBI bombshell: Warwick firefighters attempted to blackmail Mayor Avedisian?

former Mayor Scott Avedisian

Police sources in the city of Warwick confirm  the FBI is investigating whether city firefighters were attempting to blackmail former Mayor Scott Avedisian during his time as Mayor. The FBI has spoken privately to  members of the fire department who claim certain individuals of the department claimed they had "compromising information" on Avedisian and used it as leverage when negotiating with the city. It is unknown what the information was(or if it truly existed) or if it would have been considered damaging.

Recent media reports have drawn attention and front page headlines to strange past contractual language between City Hall and the firefighters union. It remains unclear if the implied threat of having compromising information( which could be damaging to the Mayor) was real or just a bluff. What is known is the pattern of irregular firefighter contracts has drawn the attention of the FBI in a far reaching investigation into the Warwick fire department.

Mayor Avedisian has refused to comment on the investigation. One source claims he became aware of the potential attempted blackmail around 2012-2013 but it was unclear if it was real, an implied threat, or a joke. Many City Hall observers seemed perplexed since last year regarding unusual contract agreements and "side agreements" between former Mayor Avedisian and the firefighters union beginning in 2013.

Graphic new details in Cranston murder plus were ashes the motive?

Michael Marrapese is being held without bail at the ACI accused in the brutal murder of his former girlfriend Lauren Ise of Cranston. Ise was found dead in her Bayview avenue apartment in what a Cranston police officer described as the one of the most horrific crime scenes in the history of the city. One officer compared it to a "Craig Price"style crime scene of barbaric proportions. A police source( who asked not to be named) said "she was tough girl who was fighting for her life but the killer(s) had a knife and caught her while she was sleeping."

Lauren Ise told police she feared for her life.

Police refuse to say if they believe there was more than one killer but they feel confident the main killer was Michael Marrapese. The mother of Lauren Ise, Cheryl Palazzo, told the John DePetro Radio show that Marrapese accused Ise of destroying the ashes of his deceased mother while he was locked up in prison. Ise denied she had flushed the urn ashes down a toilet and blamed a brother of Marrapese for spreading that lie.

Warning : Graphic content. A police source claims the words " mother fucker" were carved into the dead body of Lauren Ise, a possible reference to the dispute over the ashes from the urn. Police say she was tortured, stabbed and had her eyes removed with scissors while the apartment had "Charles Manson" type writings in blood written all over the walls. The killer also put a birthday candle in her behind(rear end) and wrote "happy birthday."

Palazzo told DePetro her daughter fought for her life but was tortured and died a brutal death. Listen to the John DePetro Radio Show for the latest on the Cranston murder.

Murder in Cranston

Lauren Ise told police her ex-boyfriend was trying to kill her

The city of Cranston is reeling from the brutal, vicious murder of Lauren Ise who was found dead in her apartment last week. Police have arrested and charged her former boyfriend Michael Marrapese with her murder and he is being held without bail. Lauren Ise worked at the Cranston Ice rink and in the past few weeks expressed fear that her ex-boyfriend and his brother were threatening her and even put a knife to her throat, however police dismissed her complaints.

In an emotional interview on the John DePetro Radio Show, Cheryl Palazzo( the mother of Lauren Ise) claims Marrapese has had 43 run-ins with police and has a serious drug problem. Palazzo claims Lauren was petrified of Marrapese and called Cranston police pleading for help but to no avail. Ise was in the process of relocating to get away from Marrapese while he was recently locked up at the ACI but Judge Bucci let him out with a suspended sentence and with no warning to Lauren Ise.

Cranston police allegedly told Ise they did not consider Marrapese a serious threat and that Marrapeses father "Bobo" was a respected member of organized crime. Lauren Ise called police last week reporting Marrapese was trying to break-in to her apartment at 3:am, screaming he would kill her. Police told her to lock her door and call them at the end of the week, however Ise was killed within 24 hours. Palazzo claims the apartment was found filled with "Manson type writings"written in blood on the wall where her daughter was found  brutally tortured, killed and her eyes removed. Floor panels and carpeting needed to be removed from the apartment due to the amount of blood at the crime scene.  Marrapese allegedly drove off in the Ise car (after the murder) to Providence to find drugs. Palazzo said since mid-February her daughter had been terrified of Marrapese and told her mother, friends and police he threatened to kill her. Mayor Fung has declined comment citing the police investigation.

Marrapese is the son of feared mob killer Bobo Marrapese who killed mobster Dickie Callie in 1975 in the Achorn social club on Federal Hill. Callie was then dumped in a shallow grave in Rehoboth.

Governor Gina Raimondo has refused to comment on the murder instead encouraging young girls to enter her "Governor for the day" essay contest. The Governor has also been vocal on the extreme abortion bill claiming women's health is a "top priority" and women need control over their body.
